Isabel received her Bachelor’s degree in the History of Art and Architecture with minors in French and Chinese from Middlebury College. Before joining Harvard, she worked in the art world in Paris, Beijing and New York. Isabel’s area of study is medieval Chinese Buddhist art, in particular esoteric Buddhism and its connections across India, the Himalayas, China and Japan. She is also currently exploring the relationship, or co-development, between Buddhism and Taoism and its corresponding visual manifestations in western medieval China.
