Yingxue Wang completed her BA in Art History at Yale University, and studied at Harvard for her MA in Regional Studies: East Asia. Her research explores the interconnected histories of premodern East Asian art, with a particular focus on the artistic contacts between the Korean peninsula and the Japanese archipelago. Working at the intersection of art history, archaeology, and material culture studies, she investigates how the movement of materials, techniques, and artisans across cultural boundaries shapes the creation and reception of art objects in an interconnected East Asia. Her research interests also include color, animal-human relations, and the relationship between art and resource extraction.
